PCOS
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine problem in women, affecting as many as 1 in 10. At this time, there is no known cure for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and the cause is still unknown. I was diagnosed with PCOS in the summer of 2004. There are a lot of big explanations of what PCOS is. In my own terms, my body has a major hormonal imbalance in my female organs, which causes it to be insulin resistant. If left untreated and out of control, PCOS can lead to type 2 diabetes and/or heart disease. There are many symptoms that PCOS can produce but the main symptoms that affect me are: being overweight, a slow ability to loose weight, depression and infertility. I try to look at these symptoms as a challenge and not as an excuse. I believe with time and hard work, God will bless me with complete healing.

Great Job! So glad to be able to share your journey!
I too struggled w/pcos! It took 3longer years and 100 lbs later to finally diagnose. I also had endometriosis. Double whammy! I struggled w/infertility for years. I was on one med that was supposed to help my insulin resistence and it about killed me. However it worked and I got pregnant. Not long after that medication was taken off the market because of its possible dangerous reactions....which I had all! Some how by the grace of god I was blessed w/a second child....he was born @the 26 weeks.I am blessed to have the 2boys I have.
I had a hysterextomy @the 29. The effects don't necessarily go away after having the hysterectomy....facial hair, weight gain and difficutly losing weight.
I wish you much luck on your journey. You know it wont be easy but have faith! I never thought I would have any kids.
god bless and stay streong!
best wishes,
Jenny
